Day 8

And again – hubby home alone. So he sets out to prepare the floors in the living room by sanding them down, so the workers can start to level them on Monday. The living room is almost done. What is left is the dining room. Same procedure.

On Saturday we’ve got someone come in to finish spackling the walls before we’re off to finally decide on bathroom fixtures, tiles, etc.

What else is new? The hubby managed to throw out the bathtub, shower and sinks with H’s help. Then they knocked almost all of the tiles off the walls. Now we got to figure out weather or not to keep the wall on the left to the door. Personally I don’t like it, I think it makes the bathroom look smaller and darker. On the up-side, the shower’s gonna cost less when we leave it like it is is. What do you reckon?

Und wieder war der Lieblingsmann allein im Haus. Der Kleber auf dem Boden im Wohnzimmer ist beinahe fertig abgefräst und nun bleibt noch das Esszimmer. Alles muss bis Montag fertig sein. Dann kommen die Handwerker, um auch hier die Böden auszugleichen.

Am Samstag werden die Rauhputzwände nochmal verspachtelt und wir gehen auf die Pirsch nach schönen aber günstigen Sanitärzeugs und Fliesen.

Was gibt es noch neues? Mit H’s Hilfe ist das Bad nun von Wanne, Dusche, Paneele, Waschbecken und Fliesen befreit. Bis auf das WC ist alles entkernt und es bleibt noch der Boden mit den auf die Fliesen geklebten Korkfliesen und wir müssen uns entscheiden, ob wir die Trennwand zwischen Tür und Dusche drinlassen oder rausreissen. Persönlich finde ich, dass die das Bad verkleinert und dunkler macht. Andererseits kostet dann die Dusche weniger. Probleme, Probleme. Was sagt Ihr?
